Tomorrow at 3PM EST / 2PM CST, Samsung will be livestreaming it’s Samsung Premiere 2013 Event for its new Galaxy and ATIV devices, which are rumored to include a Galaxy Note 3 and new Windows Phone device.
Samsung has done a tremendous job lately preventing leaks from occurring and everyone guessing. Some prototypes of the Galaxy S4 did end up leaking a few days in advance to much doubt, but for the most part the company has done an admirable job keeping things close to the vest. Samsung has made a lot of noise lately with several releases that include a nice array of Galaxy S4 variants and even a dedicated Galaxy camera. Rumors earlier in the year pointed to an all-aluminum housing for a Galaxy Note 2 successor, which is definitely within the realm of possibility considering it sees a yearly release just like its smaller brother, the S4, although it would be a little early considering they’ve been announced toward the end of summer rather than the very beginning.
The ‘phablet’ market may be heating up, however, as rumors also suggest Apple making a foray into the over-sized screen smartphone market, but those rumors are definitely without substance as of now.
You can tune in and watch the event as it happens on YouTube at youtube.com/SamsungMobile.
During Game 5 of the NBA Championship Game between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs, a Samsung commercial touting the release of a new Jay-Z album, entitled “Magna Carta Holy Grail,” was released upon the world. As the hype grew to immense proportions, we started getting some information regarding the upcoming release.
It is currently slated to release on July 4th, 2013, but if the rapper’s prior attempt at hitting a release date is to be observed (Watch the Throne was initially slated for a July 4th release), this could always change. We also learned that Samsung has purchased a million copies of the unreleased album for $5 apiece, potentially making this album a platinum record before it even sees the light of day, or a Best Buy or Target for that matter.
Samsung didn’t just buy 1 million albums as a favor to HOV, however, as they plan to giveaway all of the albums to one million of their own customers who happen to own the latest Galaxy devices such as the Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, and Galaxy Note 2. The first million users to download an app in the Play Store beginning on June 24th will get access to the album on July 1st.

Samsung has been cranking out several variants of the Galaxy S4, all with their own unique strengths added. So far, we know about the Galaxy S4 Mini, the Galaxy S4 Zoom, Galaxy S4 Active, and now there’s a new Galaxy S4 variant that is capable of LTE-Advanced which is an even faster 4G technology still in its infancy.
Looking beyond the support for Advanced-LTE, this new Galaxy S4 variant also houses a Snapdragon 800 processor which is quite a bit faster than the Snapdragon 600 processor in the Galaxy S4. Some expect the performance boost to increase further as Samsung gets closer to a final model.
Samsung has somewhat confirmed the new device, and says it will release the first version of this new variant in South Korea sometime within the next month, but no U.S. carriers have confirmed plans for the LTE-Advanced device. AT&T, however, does expect to have their LTE-Advanced 4G network up and running later this year.
